Orange County Register

I picked this up the other day: A Charlene K. charm necklace with delicate circles in rose gold and silver hues ($55). Turns out the two-year-old line is designed by a Burmese husband-and-wife duo. Mr. Teong Kay and his wife, Gigi. The couple named the jewelry line after their 6 and 1/2 year old daughter. (Kay’s son runs the family’s other business — Mandalay clothing, known for it's sexy couture cocktail dresses sold at Neiman Marcus and Henri Bendel.) The Charlene K. collection of affordable but pretty gold-filled necklaces and earrings is sold at several boutiques in Beverly Hills and Orange County, including Shopgirls in Costa Mesa (where I got mine), Karizma in Corona del Mar and Elle H in Laguna Beach.

Or try Shoprumor.com to check out Mr. Kay’s other designs.

Mr. Kay stands by his product, too. If anything breaks or stones become loose or lost, Kay said customers can return the jewelry to where it was purchased and he will repair them for free, how awesome is that?
